Restaurant Furniture Finance & Leasing
Restaurant Furniture Finance & Leasing
Fitting out a new restaurant, refurbishing a pub dining room or equipping a hotel requires significant upfront investment in furniture. Finance and leasing options let you spread that cost over time — preserving working capital while still getting the contract-grade furniture your venue needs from day one.
Herts & Essex Furniture works with UK hospitality operators of all sizes, from independent restaurants to small hotel groups. If you are planning a fit-out and want to discuss finance options, contact us to start the conversation.
Why finance your restaurant furniture?
- Preserve working capital — a full venue fit-out can run to tens of thousands of pounds; spreading the cost means that capital stays available for staffing, marketing and opening costs
- Fit out to the standard you want — finance lets you specify the chairs, tables and seating your venue actually needs rather than compromising on quality to hit a cash budget
- Predictable monthly costs — fixed monthly payments make budgeting straightforward for the first year of trading
- Tax efficiency — lease payments may be fully deductible as a business expense; speak to your accountant about the treatment for your business
- Upgrade at end of term — at the end of a lease term you can return, upgrade or purchase the furniture outright depending on the agreement
What can be financed?
Finance and leasing arrangements can typically cover the full range of commercial hospitality furniture, including:
- Commercial restaurant chairs — upholstered, metal, bentwood and stackable
- Restaurant table tops — laminate, compact laminate and solid wood
- Table bases — pedestal, X-frame and trestle in dining and poseur height
- Bar stools — fixed and adjustable height
- Signature Collection — bespoke made-to-order chairs with custom specification
- Mixed fit-out packages combining seating and tables across multiple areas
How does restaurant furniture leasing work?
Commercial furniture leasing typically works as follows:
- Agree your specification — confirm the furniture you need, quantities and total value with Herts & Essex Furniture
- Finance application — apply through a commercial finance provider; most decisions are made within 24–48 hours for established businesses
- Agreement signed — once approved, the finance agreement is signed and furniture is ordered
- Delivery and installation — furniture is delivered to your venue; monthly payments begin
- End of term — at the end of the lease term, options typically include returning the furniture, refinancing or purchasing outright
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order value for finance?
Finance is generally available from around £2,000 upwards, though this varies by provider. Most full venue fit-outs comfortably exceed this threshold. Contact us to discuss your project value and we can point you towards appropriate options.
Do you offer finance directly, or through a third party?
We work with third-party commercial finance providers who specialise in hospitality and retail fit-out lending. We can make introductions and support the process, but the finance agreement is between you and the lender. We are not a lender or credit broker.
Can a new business or start-up apply for furniture finance?
Start-up finance is available through some providers, though terms and approval criteria differ from those for established businesses. Personal guarantees are commonly required for new businesses without trading history. Contact us to discuss your situation and we will advise on realistic options.
Can I finance a mix of furniture types in one agreement?
Yes. A single finance agreement can cover the full furniture specification for your venue — chairs, tables, stools and bespoke items — as a single package value.
Is leasing the same as hire purchase?
No. With a lease (operating lease), you do not own the furniture at the end of the term and return or renegotiate. With hire purchase, you own the furniture outright once all payments are made. Both options are available through commercial finance providers. Your accountant can advise on the best structure for your business.
How do I get started?
Contact us with your project details — venue type, number of covers, furniture specification or budget — and we will provide a full quotation. We can then facilitate introductions to finance providers if required.
